The General Trustee of the British Horse Society is responsible for overseeing the charity’s governance and strategy, ensuring alignment with its mission to advance equine breeding and welfare through research and education. Key duties include ensuring the charity operates within its purposes for public benefit, exercising reasonable care and skill, and maintaining accountability through compliance with statutory requirements. They contribute to strategic planning, financial management, and risk oversight, while collaborating with other trustees to support evidence-based practices for horse breeding and welfare.
The Public Benefit
There are big shoes to fill, and nobody better to fill them than Divoky's very own Patricia Lawrence. Someone who truly understands what the people need, as well as how to fit the needs of these incredible animals with which we share the Earth. With years of experience under her belt, coupled with an acute understanding of financial management from running a successful business for nearly three decades, there is perhaps nobody better suited for this monumental task.
Pat's dedication to her craft, and the care with which she conducts Divoky's many classes, as well as her years of experience, create a perfectly positioned candidate to make sure every voice, young and old, from the newest members, to veterans of the society, will be heard, no matter how quiet or how loud, everyone can make a difference.
